Water Resistance Modified Polyvinyl Alcohol (PVA) High Barrier Composite Film
1. Product Introduction
Water Resistance Modified poly (vinyl alcohol) high barrier composite film is one of the patent products of the 8511th Institute of CASIC Corporation (Patent No.: ZL 95 1 12745.4), which is made by coating, drying, and compounding with modified PVA aqueous solution. Through modification, it overcomes the hydrophilic characteristics of the poly (vinyl alcohol), and retaining its good performance of barrier against oxygen. So it is widely applied to packing in the civil and military sectors. Because of the superior performance and environment-friendly features, it has been extensively applied to the abroad market.
Meanwhile composite film, coating substrates, such as BOPA coating film, BOPET coating film, PE coating film, BOPP coating film, and CPP coating film etc. are available upon request.
2. Product Characteristics
2.1 Oxygen barrier performance
Water Resistance Modified poly (vinyl alcohol) coating composite film has excellent barrier properties against oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen, and carbon dioxide, which outperforms PVDC coating film and EVOH. The oxygen barrier property of PVA is the best among different resins.
2.2 Environment friendly
The molecular structure of the PVA high barrier aqueous solution is formed by carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, which is biodegradable. The coating film is recyclable and reused; when it burns, it only generates carbon dioxide and water and no other harmful material to the environment and human health, and no pollution. Furthermore, compared the environment friendliness, PVA outperforms PVDC. Therefore, it is an ideal, green, environment friendly high barrier packaging material.
2.3 Flavor/Aroma Barrier
Because of its low permeability, Water Resistance PVA high barrier coating film also provides an outstanding barrier against aroma loss, and protect flavor integrity by eliminating the potential for off-state and off-odor pick-up in packaging bag.
2.4 Other features
Colorless and diaphaneity
Excellent resistance properties to oil, organic solvent
Good antistatic properties.
It can be used for microwave heating, and metal detection after packaged.
3. Product Performance
Based on the excellent barrier properties in oxygen of the modified poly (vinyl alcohol) coating composite film, coated with other base film, the gas and oxygen barrier properties will be better improved. Besides, it also has excellent mechanical properties.
